Sport & Remedial Massage

Sport & Remedial Massage involves the use of massage, soft tissue manipulation and exercise advice to reduce physical aches and pains, whether they're caused by sport, injury, or simply the stresses of modern life.

You do not need to be an athlete to benefit from this type of treatment-it has a range of benefits, including: Relaxation, improved flexibility, stress reduction, relief from muscular pain and strain and it is also very effective in treating and helping to reduce the severity of repetitive strain injury, a common problem among office workers.

For the athlete, both amateur and professional, it is a valuable part of any training regime, reducing the likelihood of injury and improving recovery after training.

Thai Massage

Nuad Bo-rarn (ancient Thai Massage) is a unique form of body therapy that incorporates practitioner assisted Yoga stretching exercises, trigger point therapy, deep tissue energy work and acupressure to stretch muscles and release tension in joints. This safe and holistic treatment harmonizes the body, increases energy, relieves stress and promotes a peaceful mind. This Northern-Thai style of bodywork dates back over 2,500 years.

It places emphasis on Yoga-like stretching positions or interaction, and reflects the gentleness of the Northern-Thai people and the “slower pace” of their lifestyle. The Northern style is also called “Yoga for Lazy People” as instead of practising Yoga yourself, the therapist does it for you. Thai Massage performed with recipient wearing loose clothing, no oil is required for this treatment.

The treatment can be varied according to the effect desired, whether it be pain relief, relaxation and stress reduction, or “Sports Massage”.

Pregnancy Massage

With the extra strains and demands placed upon your body during pregnancy, it is more important than ever to look after yourself. Massage during pregnancy reduces stress, promotes relaxation, improves circulation, reduces musculoskeletal strain and pain and contributes to developing flexibility and kinaesthetic awareness necessary to actively participate in the birth process. During the treatment, you will be fully supported in a safe and comfortable position, allowing you to relax and gain the full benefit of this wonderfully relaxing massage.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage consists of various movements which form the basis for all massage work as well as other therapies, eg physiotherapy, chiropractic and reflexology. Swedish massage can be used superficially to produce an all over relaxing effect or it can be used to affect the deeper tissues.

Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage is an ancient art, based on the traditional Indian system of medicine known as Ayurveda. Indian Head massage works on the back, neck, shoulders, neck, scalp and face, and can be performed sitting or lying, with or without oils, and can be performed fully clothed if prefered. Most people find that the experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving them feeling energised and revitalised and better able to concentrate.

On-Site Massage

Modern day Seated Acupressure, also referred to as on-site or chair massage, is a meridian based therapy in which thumb, finger, elbow and knuckle pressures are used to stimulate many of the acupressure points on the back, arms, hands, neck and head. The massage can last from 10 to 30 minute and leaves the client in a relaxed, but energised and clearly focused frame of mind.
